
NEW! 2026 Scholarship Application Available DEADLINE: February 28th, 2026
The Haynes District 2 Scholarship Committee demonstrates a commitment to its community and the city of Nashville by awarding scholarships to students within District 2 who wish to continue their education beyond high school. High school students graduating in the 2026 Spring Semester, who have been admitted to a post-secondary educational institution, and who plan to enroll in an institution of higher learning in the 2026 Fall Semester, are encouraged to apply.
Essential criterion for applicant review is the applicant’s: (1) financial need, (2) residency within District 2, and (3) acceptance at a post-secondary educational institution. Other criteria include academic performance, school activities, community service, letters of reference, essay submissions, and additional information outlined in the application packet. An interview session may also be required of all applicant finalists.

2022 RECIPIENTS
- Jakiyah Walden, a graduate of East Nashville Magnet High School, plans to major in Business Administration at Tennessee State University.
- Janaya Summers, a graduate of Nashville Big Picture High School, plans to major in Biology/Pre-Medicine at Belmont University.
- Rayvon Martin, a graduate of Martin Luther King, Jr. Magnet High School, plans to major in Exercise Sciences at Tennessee State University.
- Aqeel Abdullah Dawson, a graduate of KIPP Academy, plans to major in Chemistry and Biological Sciences at Fisk University.
2021 RECIPIENTS
- Alexis Williams, a graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High School, plans to major in Pre-Law at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
- Michayla George, a graduate of Hume Fogg Magnet High School, plans to attend Tennessee State University with studies in Entrepreneurship.
- Mackenzie Wilhoite, a graduate of East Magnet High School, plans to study at Tennessee State University with aspirations of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist.
- Austin Thomas, a graduate of Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High school, plans to attend Tennessee State University with studies in Economics/Architecture.
